Inbetween Books… again!
Written by Nikki-ann on Monday, 12 July , 2010 at 7:28 pm
Once again, I’m inbetween books.
Last night, I finished reading The Wings of Leo Spencer by Jerome Parisse. It’s the 3rd book I’ve won from GoodReads.com and I found it an enjoyable read. It’s about a 14 year old boy called Leo who finds himself facing a terrifying choice that will have an impact on him. I haven’t written my review yet, but I will do shortly and as soon as I do it’ll be up here and on GoodReads.com. The author has kindly posted the 1st chapter of The Wings of Leo Spencer on GoodReads.com, so why not check it out?
The next book I’ll be reading is If I Stay by Gayle Forman. This book is the first I’ll be reading for Transworld’s Summer Reading Challenge and I can’t wait to get stuck in. I’ve got a feeling this is going to be an emotional read, because the book is inspired by a real-life tragedy that happened several years ago. You can read an excerpt from the book over at the author’s website or visit the official ‘If I Stay’ website.
I haven’t yet got around to reading Stephen Gately’s Tree of Seasons, despite writing in my previous It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? post that it would be my next book. I didn’t do much book reading last week, but I aim to do a bit of catching up this week!
Posted for It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? which is hosted by Book Journey. Why not join in?!

I have thought about looking into Goodreads but I have a Librarything account and think that might be the same basic thing. These look good-I hadn’t heard of them before. Like you my week seemed to get away from me last week. Have a good week and I hope we both can stay a little more focused.

These all sound intriguing! I’ll have to head over to Good Reads and look at the “Leo Spencer” book – I’ve seen that one mentioned somewhere else recently.
Hope you enjoy all your reading this week!

If I Stay sounds like it might be emotional I’ll have to save that for another time. I hope you enjoy your reads!

I need to go check out the authors site for If I Stay – this is a new one for me today – but I am starting to see it out on the blogs.
Have an awesome week!

Is The Wings of Leo Spencer a YA book or an adult book with a young protagonist? I always find there are books keeping me away from other books I want to read esp. if it is a library book. Going to have to stop checking things out for a while.

Hi Nikki-ann,
Thanks so much for visiting my blog as part of the meme!
Isn’t Goodreads fantastic for their ARC/free books? I’ve got a couple from there, too.
I’ve heard so much about If I Stay that I feel like I should be reading it! I’ll be keen to see what you say, and if you feel it lives up to the hype it’s created.

Sounds like a good set of books lined up for this week. I sometimes ( well quite a lot really) never manage all the books I have planned to read either! I have not heard of any of these books, so it was great to read about them. I love finding out about books I have never heard of. Thanks for your comment yesterday ![]()

If I Stay is a BEAUTIFUL read. I loved it, and it is one of my all-time favourites now. I hope you enjoy it, or rather, cry because of it. It’s so sad!! I need to buy my own copy…I think I wrecked my local library copy for re-reading it over and over.

I’ve started E Squared by Matt Beaumont for the Transworld Reading Challenge. It came today and looked such fun that I started straight away. I usually start a book 2 mins. after ending the previous one (or after writing the review). So I’m never in between books for long!

How cool! I’ve heard about the giveaways on GoodReads.com, but I’ve never participated. Glad you are getting some books!
