Moonshot

Written by Nikki-ann on Monday, 6 July , 2009 at 10:11 pm

Early evening on Friday, I met up with some friends and had dinner at The Riverfront at BFI Southbank (where we’d be later watching the preview of Moonshot). Plenty of food & drink was consumed by all and we had a good time (I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Riverfront should anyone be looking for somewhere to eat on London’s Southbank).

Moonshot: The Flight of Apollo 11 was excellent. We were shown the ITV version (to be shown on TV later this month, I believe), which is slightly shortened compared to other versions, but never the less, it was good! They merged real NASA footage with superb acting by James Marsters, Andrew Lincoln, Daniel Lapaine and their supporting cast. They even included the all important words actually spoken by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, which was slightly weird when put in place of James’ & Andrew’s voices, but never the less, good.

The Q&A after the preview was interesting too. The director was enthusiastic about the project (although prompted with a couple of facts every now and then) and seemed to know what he was talking about, that was until somebody asked him about the actors and he started talking about James Marsters. He said that James had been in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and The Spike Show. The Spike Show? That one must have passed me by! I think he must have meant Angel! Still, all in all, I enjoyed seeing the preview and look forward to seeing it again on TV (and DVD – which will hopefully include material cut from the ITV version).

Anyway, I know I promised photos tonight, but I’ve just watched the 1st episode of Torchwood season 3 and what an episode! It’s late, so I’ll share the photos with you tomorrow.

Watch this space!
