Snow Day
Written by Nikki-ann on Monday, 2 February , 2009 at 4:32 pm
It was white over when I got up this morning and it’s pretty much been snowing constantly all day. So what with it being nearly a 30 mile round-trip to work (up & down country roads, hills and dingles), I decided to call work and use one of my holidays to stay at home. The problem is, if it keeps this up I’ll have to do that tomorrow too… and I already have Wednesday off!
I’ve kept myself nice and warm today, apart from venturing out to feed the birds which gave me an photo opportunity from the comfort of my own home…
I got plenty of shots of the starlings, but this Robin hopped about for a couple of minutes hoping to find some food too.
I recently joined in with the Festival of Trees for the first time, submitting my Lonely Frosty Tree post. Anyway, would you believe it… my photo features at the top of the February 2009 edition of the Festival of Trees hosted by treeblog! I would certainly recommend a visit to the festival as there are some fantastic posts there.

Aw…I love his frosty little beak. I popped out to feed the birds too and it was freezing!
Congrats on your featured tree photo

Hey Nikki-Ann, thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! I saw your frosty tree on the Festival of Trees thing the other day, that was a really lovely shot. Also love your robin. And that you get to say “dingle” – is that a Welsh thing or all-UK? I’m reading “The Secret Garden” to my daughter right now and was wondering why the robin character looked so different from the birds we see here in Seattle – duh, English vs. American robins, I had no idea they were so different. Yours are definitely way cuter. Happy snow day!

Congrats on being featured at the Festival of Trees! It is a beautiful shot.
Sorry that you have to use your vacation time for the snow
I hate the stuff and hope yours melts quickly.
