Camera Critters – Starling on the post

Mika (the cat) was very interested in a commotion going on outside this morning. The back garden was full of birds, so I grabbed my camera and managed to capture this little chap before he/she flew off. It was another cold and frosty morning here in Mid Wales, so no doubt they were looking for some food (which reminds me, we need to get some more bird seed to hang from the bird table!).

What a nice shot ! Unfortunately I can’t put food out with my 5 cats ! birds and cats would get crazy. But all dogowners in my street do it so that the poor things have something to eat in winter. I don’t want them to be the Christmas turkey of my cats !

I love the Starling capture. The lighting is just perfect. I read, recently, that the Starling has been running ragged in the Northeast of the US and have been overtaking sparrows and other indigenous birds. But they are very pretty.

that’s a lovely, well-balanced shot. I think the bird might be looking for any bugs that might we over-wintering inside the wooden fence post.

Great photo! The evil Darth Mittens loves to sit in the window and watch the birds in the yard. She’ll hiss at them if they do a fly by to tease her.
